Coyote Hills Golf Course is located in Fullerton California. It has (most of) the natural terrain of Anaheim Hills and (most of) the care and man-made beauty of Tustin Ranch. It's a tough course to play and you are forced to make some pretty long, straight shots to carry the fairway.
Larry and I played this course in just under 3 hours one morning. We teed off at 5:59 am. We could have finished faster, but it takes several minutes to drive to some of the tee boxes and fairways. We then went to Mimi's Cafe in Yorba Linda and had a light breakfast consisting of bacon and eggs, hash browns, pancakes, toast, orange juice and coffee and then went over to Anaheim Hills. I had some killer blisters by the end of the day.
Hole 8 is my favorite. You must hit your tee shot straight. If you really rip it from the white tees, you can overshoot the fairway and go down into a creek (theoretically).
Some of the fairways are quite narrow (1 & 10) but many are pretty wide. A few par 4's you should use an iron and lay up your first shot. You get a balanced round here.
Well maintained, pretty golf course with working oil wells sprinkled throughout. |
