Cloverleaf - Roadmap

Date Started: April 12, 2004

Estimated # of hours to put in place: 1,000

Mission Statement:
Put into place a series of files that will enable the JKAT users to do their job in the most efficient fashion. The project will not seek to give them what they want, but what they actually need.

The files will enable management to produce reports from data users have already entered so easily that the reports will be used on a consistent basis and improve the company’s bottom line.

This project will help everyone to do their job right the first time, and prevent mistakes and the time taken to fix them.

Objective:
Have files that are better, faster, easier to use, and easier to maintain than the current set.

Side Goal:
To prove or disprove my theory that “It is better to teach FileMaker to someone who is an expert in our business, than to teach our business to someone who is an expert in FileMaker”

Parameters:
Complete the project at or under budget
Use consistent interface

Process:
Interview users to understand how they currently user files
What work needs to be done
How can the files let them do their job more efficiently
